Re: Reproduction Issues
Glenn, I understand where you are with this. I certainly understand the cost of these reproductions, $12 is reasonable if it was a good product. The tooling is expensive to have these types of items reproduced. Most people don't have a clue of all that's involved. I also know the folks that had these made did so in good faith hoping for a successful good selling component; obviously that didn't happen. I'm thinking issues with the installation of these would have become obvious with prototypes??? I'm also sure that most would be shocked if they knew the investment that has gone into making this happen, and then to come up with an undesireable end product. I hate it for them. We have worked on upgrade items and had similar issues to result, but through our own testing before marketing, realized it was not the product we would like our name attached too. We took the initial beating it caused, backed up and went another route to what we now believe is a successful conclusion. We are testing before seeking a full open market. Our situation was with transmission gears, we will be fully satisfied before we let a set leave here.
As far as draft pads go, I was anxiously awaiting these to come available, I've known for a while these new ones weren't good. I won't buy any more of these that are out there now. I'm giving these folks a chance to get their product straightened out, hopefully they are making an effort to do that, but I really don't know. If a useable product doesn't emerge out of this, we will be forced do our own replacement pads in some form or fashion for our projects I guess.
