I too, run a Painless Performance kit-excellent quality and easy to install as opposed to a scratch-build.

check out this thread : http://www.g741.org/PHPBB/viewtopic.php ... ter#p60472

the oil bath is far superior if you are doing dusty gravel roads. most conical air cleaners are for the race track.

Re: farm truck rustoration
with the low height of the Rochester I would think a transition to the three bolt flange of the intake elbow would be easy to make.

Re: farm truck rustoration
progress
I have a fuse panel mounted
my fuel pump and ign are wired
and I added 2 7inch auxiliary headlights from an old international truck
antennae is mounted
carb stopped giving me issues but I will be pulling it to set the float lower
it must have had a piece of dirt stuck in the needle and seat

Re: farm truck rustoration
more progress this weekend
it was close to 70 out side the shop
considered opening the door
my grandpa plowed snow in his jeep with no doors with no shirt on
I have high and lo beams and I wired my starter to a push button on the dash
I have my air horn wired and its nice N LOUD
I have resistor wired to dist and a bypass so I get full voltage when I'm cranking
and I'm enjoying wiring it makes me think and I stay pretty clean at the end of the day

Re: farm truck rustoration
wiring is done
all that is left for truck is
gauges
trailer plug
2 inch receiver hitch
bolt on a couple little sheet metal bits (clutch housing cover)
adjust carb
fuel sender
backup lights
switch to turn off brake lights
rubber equine mats on bed floor
seatbelts
and cupholders
other stuff I did this weekend
wrapped steering wheel in paracord it has a nice feel to it and reminds me of a world war 2 helmet that has netting on it
and I added guards from an m211 in front of the head lights
I am planning on finishing soon hopefully the truck doesent try to alter my plans
