Windshield Seal

Post by knattrass »

So we pulled the w/s off to work on the electric wipers and some other items on the list. We were going to install the seals and could not find in the manuial which way the lower seal goes? One edge has a long taper to it and a round bead on top of it. The other edge is more blunt. The hole line up either way? Yikes, which edge points to the front?

Sid - thanks much. The w/s frame was actually bowed and split along the bottom due to the collection of water/freeze sometime back. We heated/hammered the lower frame back and sealed it up fairly straight. Our cowl area looked like it was used for a step ladder all the sheet metal was kind of dented around. When we swung the w/s in the up position, you can see air under it because the cowl is not straight. We are going to apply a secondary seal over the screw heads to close the gap.
