Hello,
It has been an age since I posted to this site - mainly cause I can't work out the picture posting thing - thats another matter altogether!
Just wanted to say that with Spring here (Australia) it sure is great to be using Old Rusty some more!
He made the front cover of the Power Wagon 24th Anniversary Issue a couple of months back and it seems any time we take the truck to a show it ends up in the local papers etc.
The M37 really is such a rarity here and we just love drining, talking to people and seeing their reactions...
Hope everyone else is having as much fun!
Regards
Chris
Glad to hear that Old Rusty is still alive, welll, and making friends! I still have its picture (from when Gerry Zell still owned it) on my wallpaper.
Weather-wise, things are slowing down up here in Illinois, USA, but the trees are gorgeous. Our weather bloke on the radio told us this morning that we can expect our first frost next week. Brrrr! I don't even want to think of it!
I used to live about a 1/2 mile from Gerry Zell. I didn't know the man personally, however he used to drive his M37(the one in this thread no doubt) by my house once in a while. I talked to him once at a local parade where he and a few other MVers were involved. At the time I was between M's and briefly mentioned the previous truck that I had owned. That truck of his has been a long way since that time. That was about 7 years ago if I remember correctly.
G'day Chris......
I can post any pictures you like.
My M37 get's more than it's fair share of looks here too, mind you, mine isn't exactly stock anymore either
Take Care
Hello again,
Yes we took care of Old Rusty from Gerry early last year.
Forgot to mention that as a bit of a laugh we took the truck down to the local show (like a country fair) and entered it in the 'beaut ute' (pickup truck) competition alongside all these hotted up, big stereo, big wheel, tinted this and chromed that's utes (pick-up).
Old Rusty beat the competition winning the 'Best 4WD vehicle' in the show and winner of the 'Chicks Utes' (as the truck is registered to my partner Jeannie). So I guess you could say that Old Rusty is a 'muli award winning vehicle'. Well it is in our eyes!
Cheers!
