We had some visitors to our local airport - they were on their way to an airshow. They all arrived and left under their own power.
When they were parked, the public could come in (for $12) to tour & touch. For $650/ half hour, you could go for a flight in the B-17. For $3,200, you could ride (and even fly! if you knew how) in the P-51 Mustang.

Thanks for the post and the mention of a good bunch of folks. The Collings Foundation is a good group. We had them at our museum in August, They sold 12 rides in the P51!!! Who has that much play money? I got to help on an engine swap on their B-24 a decade back, earned me flight time in the B-17. Great fun
