Engine Weight

Post by k8icu »

I was just wondering if anyone had the weight of the T-245 motor handy.

DUH...never mind I found it... I forgot I have manuals....Sometimes I wonder why this thing is attached to my shoulders...lol...

Anyway for anyone who wants to know TM 9-1840A says the engine weighs 606 lbs.

Thanks! I don't have the TM, but I have my rebuilt engine in the back of my Dakota pickup. I tried to move it just a little bit today in order to put some more parts in there with it and couldn't budge it. Now I know why! I had to get my neighbor to help me slide it 2 inches! (The task was complicated a bit because it's resting on a sheet of 1" high density foam padding, formerly used in front of a factory work bench for standing comfort.)

Hello LIfer, And may I spin a funny tale ? I also have a "plate " of sorts in my 2000 S10 Blazer, and it's 3/16" sheet metal. And it enables me to carry heavy ass stuff, to include engines, AND move it as nneded because it is made of metal. Crow bars help too. ..
