Well, I finally got that unsightly front bumper off the truck.
Gotta bring a winch style lower grill in from the hangar before I install the winch bumperettes. Getting those rusted 70 year old bolts out was a chore.

Re: Front Bumper
About fifty years ago one of my friends needed to relocate the truck across the storage yard (I wasn't there).
So he torched a couple of holes in the frame and stick a big U-bolt in to attach the towbar.
It's always kind of bothered me and now that I'm refurbishing the truck, I'm going to repair the rear hole because it is structural.
However, the front hole isn't and my friend departed this earth way too soon, so I'm thinking about leaving that front hole as a historical tribute to him (it isn't structural and can't be seen when the winch and bumperettes are on the truck).
I'm dithering - what would you guys do ?

Re: Front Bumper
Got the back wheels off and the rims at the sandblaster.
Looking forward to having all four tires on the truck.

Sometimes I stick my foot in my mouth. The frame extension rails for the winch slipped my mind. I do have to repair that front hole. But I did get a test fit on the winch bumperettes done today.

Re: Front Bumper
I would have fixed it regardless of the frame extensions. Boy, they look really weird with no bumper!
"It may be ugly, but at least it is slow!"
Re: Front Bumper
I went out to my hangar today and dug through my parts pile.
Found two new inner windshield frames complete with glass and weatherstripping still in the box.
I'm a happy camper. Still looking for the new outer frame.
