solid state volt. reg.

Post by hairpin151 »

I think that my voltage reg. has given up.I'm not sure just how it works but with the cap off and the engine running the two single point sets are closed but the double set is open.I can push the double set down to the closed position but no change.I installed a gov. rebuilt gen. and polarized it so I think that end is good. When I check the voltage at the batts I get between 23-24 volts while running,I just charged the batts too. If I need a different reg. can I use one of the new solid state models? My truck is a 53' and pretty much stock.Any help at this point will be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

James
