Hi All,
I recently purchased an 1953 M37 CDN and it came with the hardtop. I'd like to install a soft top for the summer and need all the parts to make it work. Other then the cab top hardware kit (that includes the top bow extensions, support rails, cab top rails and u bolts), the canvas top itself and rope hooks what else is needed? How does the top connect to the windshield frame?

You need a windshield top front retaining channel.
1952 M37 - Mods = Locking hubs, battery switch, 2 bank charger, PB, PS, Pertronix SSI, Elect fuel pump w/filter&pressure switch, bikini top, tool box liners, 24v & 12v fused circuits.

Re: Canvas Top Parts
There should be a channel on the top of the windshield frame, the leading edge of the canvas top slides into.
Give John Bizal a call @ https://midwestmilitary.com/ for the parts that you are looking for. Great guy to work with.
Regards,
Bert

Re: Canvas Top Parts
Do you know if the hardtop still fits with this piece attached to the windshield frame?
Re: Canvas Top Parts
Most all hardtops do not fit with the channel loop in place. I also have a spare set of the soft top horizontal pieces 2 each that sit up top. PM me if interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Re: Canvas Top Parts
BugsandJeeps, if happen to reach out to VPW about the retainer I would like to know what they tell you at the time of shipping.
