Specification of Brake Drum Retaining Screws

Post by Elvis A Presley »

Has anyone found an easy substitution for the brake drum retaining screws?
Everybody and their brother use these things - from car and trucks to Massey Fergusons to Ford 8Ns.
There must be something out there that has the same specifications - and perhaps an allen-head or hex head !!!!

Any wisdom would be greatly appreciated !!!!

Thanks PoW!! I’m having to beat, punch, drill out whatever to get them loose and would love to replace them with something better. Thank you for your offer!

everybody has their tricks to loosen rusted fasteners. Me, I put a propane torch on them, then satiate with Kroil or similar, do this a number of times over several days, whack on the surrounding metal to shock the threads, sometimes I spray then some Freeze-off oil on them, and usually have good luck.

and, good luck... hal
