Good Afternoon All,
OK, so my truck is leaking from the rear end drive shaft yoke and I am needing to repair it. However, rear ends are one vehicle area I have no experience with. How difficult and what is involved in replacing that seal?
Thanks, Dennis

Re: rear end leak repair
It's probably the pinion seal that's leaking, not actually the yoke.
Lots of information here on this topic. Just do a search on "pinion seal".
Two pieces of advice: (1) getting the old seal out will probably be the hardest part of the job, and (2) do not install an NOS leather seal.

Re: rear end leak repair
I've seen oil leak from under the nut in the flange.
Some seal up OK, others not, especially if you run synthetic gear lube.
It will find ways out of cases you can't imagine.
If that is where it is coming from, a bit of sealant on the washer and nut will help.
