Post by Tim Powell »

Yesterday, 4 July 2021, it was my privilege to attend the West Burlington Iowa Parade in support of the local AMVET chapter.
I am proud to have had the opportunity to support our Veterans, our Town and our Community.
Happy Birthday America. A great big “Thank You” from the Powell’s.

Nice looking truck, Tim. What is the logo on your door? Is it painted on or a magnet?

Your truck and trailer look great. Glad you got it out to show support for our country. That is really needed now more than ever. I know the vets really appreciate seeing our trucks as well.

Thanks. I was going to have a magnetic sign made up for my truck, but a couple of friends have been trying to talk me out of it. There are a lot of dirt roads in our area, and I spend a lot of time on them. They've warned me that the dirt will get behind the magnet and do a number on the paint. If you've seen my truck, you'll know that aesthetics are not a prime concern - it's definitely got a "lived-in" look - however, I don;t want to start any corrosion issues, as there is also a lot of salt and brine used on the roads around here. Have you noticed any problems?

Hey Gary!
We had a good day but it was a bit too hot for my Lori.
Had to head right home after the parade.

John, those signs belong to the AMVET Post.
The only time they are on the truck is during a parade.
I'd say "go for it" my Friend, just take them off when you put the truck away!

Thanks, Tim.

These would just be on for special occasions, so I guess the risk is minimal.
