Off-roading in my M-37 with young people

Post by Cliff »

I just spent a week in Moab Utah off-roading in my 1953 M-37. I had a great time and the truck was fantastic. It went everywhere and did everything I asked of it. My wife loved it as well. We were with my wife’s nephew and family. The nephew’s son is the one that built my M-37 and he is only 15 years old. He did a phenomenal job. He has an M-38 1951 flat fender Jeep that he restored and his dad has a 1949 CJ-2A flat fender Jeep. All three vehicles did great at Moab. We put on a little over 100 miles. The nephews son is in the process of building another M-37 and he says he will keep this one since he saw how well mine performed at Moab. It is great to see young people involved in this hobby.

That's great! You don't hear of many 15 year olds into this sort of thing.

Is the M37 the stock powertrain, or something custom?

My M-37 is all stock and has the original drive train. It has been converted to 12 volt. It has it’s original 230 flat head six cylinder engine. It has 583 gears and runs on 900x16 military non directional tires. I won a race to see who could go the slowest while in Moab. I won by a lot. This truck goes places in two wheel drive that I know my Jeep Wrangler would require four wheel low to navigate. I would attach some pictures but I don’t know how so I will do that later after my granddaughter shows me how.

Sorry a couple of the pictures are sideways. I don’t know why that happened so I don’t know if I can correct that.
