Hi, I'm new to the forum and reading thru the discussion, just bought my first M37 in August. I'm curious, has anyone figured out or thought once the axle is strengthened which is the next component to go? I saw the torsional failure and of course it failed at the machined splines after some torsion load exceeding the material shear modulus(plasticity).
You may go to 4340 or verify the 4140 material composition, metallurgy or microstructure.
Doubt the manufacturer of the reputation of Foote would mess up a 4140 heat treat schedule.
At the end I think we are looking to have higher loading components, but as always the fracture migrates.
my 2 cents.
BTW: Who ever spent the money 4K on the first try with Foote, wow some personal risk. - Thanks
regards

Welcome and glad you've joined us!
I don't have any upgraded axle shafts in mine but some of our members do and will hopefully weigh in.
