Does anyone have any ideas as to why the rear bodies of the pickup and ambulance were bolted to the frame at some locations while at some points the body just rested on the frame?
Was this to allow for movement and flexing of ether the body or the frame? Just curious as we are making a custom rear bed.
Thanks

I can't say for sure but would suspect some flex would be involved; therefore the mount positions require pads between the bed and frame. Dodge stopped short of spring-loading the bed mount bolts, unlike the cab.

Re: Body Mounting to Frame Question
yes for flex. these frames are designed to flex. kind of like very large trucks. stiff suspension with frame that allows for articulation. modern pickups are the other way. mushy suspension and stiff frame. both designs have pros and cons.
