I bought some conventional Shell Rotella 15w-40 oil and a Wix 55100 filter and changed the oil in the M37 and then noticed that that in small print it says Diesel on the jug.
What I had put in was Shell Rotella T4 15W-40. Is this a problem to run in the M37 gas engine?
Thanks

Some people believe a Diesel engine oil would be best for our aging engines. A lot of detergent in them. But check to see if your version of Shell has plenty of anti-wear additive, typically called zinc. Can do this on the Shell website, and if not 1000 ppm or more, additives can bring that up. I run an a high "zinc/phosphorous" 10-40 oil in my own truck. I am sure others will comment shortly. NV

Rotella T is fantastic oil to run in your truck. Rotella T1 30 wt. Is what I run in the M37. I use T4 in every other engine I own. Jeeps, trucks, go-karts cars and lawnmower.
