M37 clutch linkage arm

Post by outpostm37 »

Make sure you check these on both the bell housing and inside the driver's side frame rail.
This one is ready for retirement.

its surprising how fast they can wear. specially when introduced to dusty gravel roads. those pins are part of my pre trip oiling as well as both sides of the bell housing, brake, tcase linkage roll pins and throttle links. not to mention all the nipples

My front leaf spring shackle brackets were wallowed out like that; replaced both.

My truck had a very hard life. How is the job of replacing front leaf spring bushings? Any pics by chance?

One of the weak links. Give all the grease zerks on the pedal shaft and elsewhere you would think these linkages and arms would have been a little more beefy for the MV application? It is the same link on a DeSoto  They are easy to build back up with braze. I try to keep mine cleaned lubed every so often.

Precisely why I changed all those on the clutch and transfer levers to Heim joints. We drive these trucks far longer than the military ever did.

That's the way to go. I have my spherical rod ends abut have not got around fabricating the linkage yet. Too many home fix up projects getting in the way of quality truck time

Sorry for the delay, Outpost; taking down an influx of spammers here on the forum.
I might have some pix of replacing my front leaf spring mount bushings (I replaced the springs as well). Let me me dig around-might take a few days....

No go on the pix-on a CD that I have no way to view with the advent of everything online.
Whizzes me off!
