Anything you put UNDER the truck that isn't the stock unit runs the risk of getting water in the brake system. The stock unit is sealed and vented at the carb. Anything new will be vented at the cap and that will be in the splash from the wheel. The option is to remote the reservoirs to the firewall if you change setups.

Re: 265 cdn m37
truck looks great! nice work on the steering. if I read the post on MC correct the 2, 7/8" will perform like a 7/8" single. stock is 1.25". smaller gives more power but requires more pedal travel. with 7/8" MCs it wont have pedal till its near the floor. there are 1.25" dual circuit MCs availalbe in dodge, gm and ford. if you look through post 66 trucks on rockauto you will find them.

I thumbed through a stack of raybestos books but couldn't find a dual line mc's with a 1 1/4 bore.....if you have a link please share.RMS wrote:my math shows that using two 7/8th masters will get me closer to the stock master.

Re: 265 cdn m37
here is a cast iron one. if you want a later aluminum one look at 1 ton ford vans from the 80s and 90s. those require a remote mounted reservoir which I have fittings and kits for.

Re: 265 cdn m37
maybe they recommend the 1 5/16 for power boosted systems? sometimes upping bore size when switching to power might give better balance and pedal feel.
Re: 265 cdn m37
here is a Dodge one. we dont need chevy parts on our trucks anyway. ;/)

Re: 265 cdn m37
looks to have a smaller reservoir making it easier to get the lid off. and the whay the ports look leads me to believe it could have built in residual pressure vales ?

Re: 265 cdn m37
that MC is for 67 dodge W300 so definitely would have check valves in it for 4 wheel drum brakes.
