Wiring

Post by bobcat1/178th »

Couple things.....How much does a later year REAR harness go for? I have a 1952 REAR and a 1968 front....I hear they are $$$......would like to have both rear turn signals but the cost of this rebuild is a little high....

If I use both harness how difficult is it to combine?

My truck is a 53 which I know originaly doesn't have both turns and brake.....

I bought mine from Vintage Wiring of Maine several years ago. I've never had any problems with their product and it looks like the original. I don't know what the current prices are.

When I helped Chris wire his truck the harness didn't have wires for the turn signals. So we ran extra wires that we used for the signals. The hardest part of that was to open the back of the big connector plug that goes into the light switch to add a power wire for the signal box.

Since you have the newer front harness you should be able to hook into the signal circuits for the rear. Stock Mil wire is available on the e-bay and you can even get the correct connectors there. A lot less money than Vin-Wire or VPW is charging.
