Front springs

So I bought 2 NOS front springs from vintage. After replacing both it raised maybe a inch? They seem extremely "flat" for original. maybe 1 inch curve from front to rear of spring straight line. the inch being top of spring at axle to plane of eyebolts. Is this normal? The truck seems to appear like its been pimped by a kid in the 80's with rear air-shocks!

Yep. It's normal. You have to remember that these trucks were built to haul heavy loads (ammo ain't lightweight) over rough terrain. When you put a load in the back, the rear will squat a little bit (not much) and lighten the load on the front, so it will level out a little when loaded.

Agreed-I replaced mine with a VPW pair a few years back. The arch was right at 5 and 1/4 inches before install, and leveled out with the front-end weight after install, so your's sounds correct.

A jacked-up Hornet??? Man! I'd love to seee that! You must have been poor as a church mouse! What's next? A blown & inhected Gremlin with a narrowed/tubbed rear end running Mickey Thompson slicks??

Not poor..Innovative...LOL. Yes, I had "Roger Ward" Indy Champ 60 series bias ply tires on the rear with Gremlin factory mags.

I loved my Gremlin I had in high school. Unfortunatly my Mom said no when I wanted to replace the engine with something a litle better.
