Fording Kit Intake Pipe Wanted

Post by carolinamv »

Im looking for the intake pipe for the fording kit for the M37. If you have a old or new one, or are thinking of pulling one off your truck I will sure pay up. Name a realistic price and Ill buy it righty away. that's about the only piece I need to complete the truck so I will sure pay up!

Surprised no one is remaking this yet... The rest of the parts seem fairly common. Maybe the rest of the parts were commonly left installed and only the intake pipe was removed and stored after fording?

Has anyone made a Blue-Print Paper Design of the Parts???? It would be easy to build if you have the specs.

Id buy a repro. It doesn't make much sense no one has them or even a repro when they repro make fording tail pipes.

Don't forget that I am waiting in the same line for the intake side for my truck. I need the mounting bracket, and intake pipe. I think John at MWM has the hose.

I'm more than willing to draw a 3d model if someone wants to take photos and measurements. Then it would simply be a matter of money to take the blueprints to a local metal fab shop. The topper might be complicated

Is there an NSN for the parts? The pipe can be mandel bent anf the brackets fabricated.

I'm sure this has been answered before but I can't find it now... My truck came with the fording shroud around the air filter. In normal operation, is the truck meant to be run with the shroud installed with the top secured, and just the intake pipe removed? I remember reading that having the full intake kit with pipe installed will choke the motor, but I don't remember specifics on the shroud installed or not.

You would think since your limiting the air intake from the stock screen that goes all the way around the air filter intake to putting on the fording shroud with a small open hole you would be reducing air flow. Im sure someone can explain it better , that's my thought though.

In normal operation you shouldn't have a fording kit shroud on it since your not fording the truck.

Put the cover under the seat in the cab. Your engine will appreciate it.

Cover, do you mean the whole shroud that covers the air filter, or just the "lid" of the shroud? It's all taken off right now so it's real easy to do either one.

Just the lid. That will let the engine breath like normal, and if you are at a show you can always quick put it on.
