Thanks for posting the video-mine isn't that bad-just floats to the right. Disappointing in that this tranny was professionally rebuilt and only has 850 miles on it; however the shop that did it left the HMV industry so I'll tackle the repair myself with the expertise presented throughout the thread.

Was fiddling around in the truck today and noticed this... The truck shifts fine but I assume this bit of slop is only going to get worse if I don't take care of it pretty soon.

Charles, any idea on a ballpark cost to repair a top cover assembly?

Honesty here; you are asking for the impossible cost quote. Depends on what all may need to be addressed to repair everything. No way to know that until it is disassembled, cleaned, and inspected. The only way to do this fairly is on a time and material basis. A turn key price based on a worst case scenario in many cases would not be fair.
