LICENCE PLATE MOUNTING
Hey Crew.
Somehow while talking about "pioneer tools" we got off onto license plate mounting locations.
We mounted our front plate on a small set of hinges. Two 1/4" holes in the bottom towards the rear of the bumper flange.
Folds up nicely for parades. (The Retired Army Plate belonged to my Father)
The Army plate is attached to the grill with "metal wire loom clamps" & stainless screws with acorn nuts.
Our rear plate is mounted on a heavy rubber truck mudflap. I do not have my license-lamp installed yet.
It will also be mounted to the "flap" with an extra ground wire attached.

Re: LICENCE PLATE MOUNTING
I like those ideas, Tim. It looks like a good way to comply with the laws and yet quickly conceal them for parades and displays.
Re: LICENCE PLATE MOUNTING
I like the hinged plate....now all you got to do is hook it up to a fording cable...if you need on the fly anonymity
do you guys need to run a license plate light ? north of the 49th because it did not come with one, one is not needed. same with seat belts....but as Johny law waves me through a seat belt check I always tell them I have seat belts and would they like to see.
Was it only the Canadian trucks that came with the front license plate bracket ?

Good ideas Tim.
How to you illuminate the rear plate when driving at night is my problem.

No front plate. Rear under the tool rack on the tailgate. No light. No seatbelts. Only because I wanted them does it have turnsignals. Cops don't hassle MVs here.

Re: LICENCE PLATE MOUNTING
Sealed beam trailer lamp. 24 volt, just run a ground wire. Cost about $7 each.

Re: LICENCE PLATE MOUNTING
Those are great ideas!
In CO you don't have to have one on a historic Military Vehicle, as long as its somewhat restored back to its Military life. Like it cant be a red VFD marked fire truck , but a spay paint green paint job and some numbers would pass.

Nice look, Tim! I tacked a couple of bolts to my tailgate to hang the rear plate; ugh, zip-ties up front for now.
Carter, fab up a magnetic light with two wires that can be unplugged when not in use. Already packed my camera for the Topeka trip-I'll get some pix out here for you once I get back-be sure to remind me!

Re: LICENCE PLATE MOUNTING
Thanks for all the nice words Fellows!! Makes the effort all worth the time!
Gary, my Buddy Sam Wilson is heading to Topeka also. (I gotta' work)
Sam is the News Letter Editor for the Quad City's MVPA.
I was a very short lived member of the QCMVPA. Too many projects, full time job, too far away.
Had a very nice turnout yesterday for the Burlington Iowa Steamboat Parade.
We were invited to join in with the VFW & National Guard! Sam owns & operates a "deuce" with a "water buffalo".
Lori & I had the M-37 and trailer.
