window weatherstripping

Post by Gerry »

How do you remove the weatherstripping on the top of door? The 2 pieces that sandwich the window as it raises up along opening?
Thanks,
Gerry

Any old school molding tool will remove them with no damage to the door. They are just held in with round stamped metal studs. It is easier to do if you remove the window first. ( remove inner panel, remove up stop from bottom of frame, remove the two retainer clips and lift window out of door)
Just did this last week on mine. Good time to lube the regulator, door latch and handles.

Get a copy of the parts manual! Pictures! Lots of pictures. Makes things a lot easier.
