A member over on Steel Soldiers asked for some photos of the detail parts of a M-42 Command Truck Truck Map Table. I have a reproduction one that is new (it's a couple of years old but you'd never know) and a couple of old beat up original ones. I posted some pictures I have of the table to help him out. Bert saw them and asked me to post them over here also. I don't really know where these belong, and I don't know if anyone is interested, but here they are.
Mods, please move this thread if there is a better place for it.
this bracket looks like it would lock between the two wooden slats on the side or on the headache rack. I assume the leg fully extended will put the table top above your knees when sitting on the troop seats.
.............................. use it ...............
Yes, that is exactly what that bracket does. The table is at the perfect height when sitting on the troop seat (unless you are unusually tall or short).
The manual for the truck shows the table resting on the tailgate and this illustration leads many people to think that the table ATTACHES to the tailgate, which is incorrect. I'm building a couple other tables that will attach to my tailgate, and I hope to have them done before this Fall. We'll see how it goes.
Good stuff. Thanks for posting those photos, Storm.
