Hi there everyone. Proud new owner of a Canadian spec M37 in Vancouver BC. Sadly, the rear dif packed it in as I was giving it a winter "field coat" of paint. If anyone can give me the info (names / sources of donor cars etc) of the dif parts (Im a British ports car guy, so this heavy equipment is a bit perplexing). Or if anyone knows a source for parts close by. I put the car in first, let out the clutch, the was a BOOM...and now it just kind of clank/thumps when I put it in gear. All drive shafts turning to the rear dif (which is why I think its the dif...of course..that is where the noise comes from too....)
I'm not opposed to slowly start updating it either, so if there is a newer rear dif I can put in without much machining, I am open to that....
help greatly appreciated.
Vince

Welcome to the site. Until you take the diff apart you won't know what you'll need. I have two complete takeoff axles that I can remove the diffs from but I don't know if there was I difference between the US and Canadian diffs. There is a gentleman on this site from western WA that may have parts and would be closer to you. Hopefully he will chime in.

hi Vince
did you pick up the 350 powered m37 from mission ?
im in richmond and have the largest selection of parts north of the 49th. I can offer you a ring and pinion or a complete third member. I also have one lose complete rear end "drum to drum". if you plan on doing any work to the rear end I recommend first sourcing a new third member gasket and inspecting the wheel bearings and spindles.
cheers

Pull the axles. make sure its not a broken axle. Pretty common on the M37.

Welcome aboard Vince! Not the best way to start, but at least you found your way here. RMS is closer than I am, and there a more M37CDNs on the LML. I second the checking for a broken axle, as they are a known weak link. Depending on what you need and how fast, RMS is probably your best bet. If he can't help, one of you can let me know and I will see what I have. I have a couple of runners, a sleeper and a parts truck over here in Black Creek.
Keep us posted on what you find and share some pictures of your truck.

Pull the driver's side axle first. May save some time looking for the trouble.
