VICTOR 1059C, your favorite auto parts supplier should be able to cross reference & come up with this for you.

Be sure to have the head resurfaced before you install a new gasket, they don't just blow for no reason, the head likely has some low spots.

We just went thru the same thing. We had the head machined and baked to remove carbon build up. We also pulled the manifolds-same thing. We could not purchase just a head gasket at NAPA, they only had the whole kit for around $92. It ended up being the right thing to do because it gave us the incentive to remove items for inspection and replace gaskets. I would say that the oil pan was the most critical because it was sludged and concealed the bottom of the engine. It was nice to inspect the lower half of the engine and fix some oil leaks at the same time.

just throwin this out there but we need to do ours and in talking to my guy there are 2 different engines a usa built and a canada built, the canada built had a big bump in the front of the head behind the water pump for coolant or something, mine appears that someone may have put on the incorrect gasket at some point in her life wont be sure till we eventualy pull the head :?

The 230 engines used in the US M37 trucks don't have the bump.

The best investment I made was in the FelPro kit from NAPA. The cost was about $94 but everything is in there. We didn't have to worry about tracking down all the pieces when we removed the head, intake, exhaust, carb, fuel pump, oil pan, water pump. In fact, having the gaskets forced us into the "why not?" remove them for inspection and cleaning?? We sent the pump and carb out for rebuild while the machine shop had the head/manifolds. After rebuilding and shakedown, we dropped the oil pan for inspection and cleaning. The only mistake was on the water pump where we installed it dry, no sealant, small drip. Now that we have the body off for final sanding, we plan on cracking open the top of the transmission for a look (which we dread because of a known 2-3 shift problem-be ready Charles!). Be sure to have a can of copper gasket spray and hi temp thread sealant on hand & don't worry - the guys here will get you thru it!!
