M37 Dodge front & rear shocks

Post by John G »

I have just crossed referenced the correct part # from Gabriel shocks for the
front shocks it is Gabriel Fleetline shock # 85305 425mm compressed to
692mm extended.Called Gabriel and they also checked!
The question I have has anyone cross referenced the part # for the rear
shocks. If so I would appreciate the help.
Purchased the 2 front shocks from TruckSpring.com for $ 45.04 ea.
this morning.

John:
The Gabriel Fleetline Shock numbers I used are Front=85303 and Rear=85302. The front shocks fit perfect but, on the rear the driver's shock seemed to be a little short in length. The only thing I can think of is the driver's side has more leaf springs as my truck is an M37B1. Also, try searching a shock number one digit higher or lower than the pair you ordered. That may give you the matching pair for the rear.

Last time I bought shocks for the M37 were monro-magnum 70 shock absorber. These are the same diameter as the nos but do not have the lower collar on the bottom. Part # frt. 74025, rear 74029. Rears are a little longer. I have a 1987 master catalog that I saved. It lists these for tractor trailer and buses. Hope this helps. They are available on various internet sites.

You might try Monroe 74424 on the rear (I did).
