Pertronix Ignition Coil Burn Up?

Ok guys. I installed the electronic ignition and need to know something. I know with the points set up you risk burning up the coil if you leave the ignition switch on. Does this hold true with the electronic set up as well? I ran the turn signal power supply from the ignition switch so if I use the hazard flashers I will need to leave the IGN switch on. If it will burn up the coil i will run a new power supply independent of the switch.
If anyone is wondering the Pertronix was purchased at Advanced Auto for $110 shipped to my door using their 20% promo. The #MV-161A. Good deal I believe.

Not only will it burn the coil up, it will also burn up the ignition module. Keep in mind that no ventilation through the enclosed distributor housing is taking place unless the engine is running. Turn signals should never be wired through the ignition switch for several reasons. One of which you mentioned; suppose you broke down on the road and needed to leave the flashers going while you went for help, it is rather obvious that leaving the ignition on would not be practical and likely would be dangerous in numerous ways. Wiring accessories through the ignition switch generally is not a good idea unless it is components with a low amp draw that will never be needed except when the vehicle is in operation. Many times ignition switches are not designed to carry the amperage load that certain components will draw, thus causing overheating and premature switch failures. All accessory items should be properly fused or protected by circuit breakers as well.
