I am starting to do the body work on my rear bed. I have many extra holes. Does anyone have a clear picture with only the stock holes of the sides and front of the Bed. The front panel only has two unknown holes. They are approx 1/8" on the drivers side. Hope to paint that panel this week if I can found out if those holes need to be filled.
Thanks,

Re: Rear bed holes
Hi Gerry,
It is kind of hard to know what those holes might have been used for. A picture might help; or maybe not.
In the military, those trucks were generally treated like a farmer treats an old tractor. If someone needed to attach something, they just drilled holes. I've got a couple of holes on my truck for the exhaust bracket and pipe for the fuel fired heater that I just plugged with a couple of bolts and nuts. I don't think I'll ever attach that heater again, but the bolts were an easy, non permanent fix.
The only hole in my front bed panel is the one for the power outlet (you can get NOS ones from Midwest Military for $35, I think. That is less than the cost of the connector). It is nice to have power available in the bed.
There are tie down hooks on the outside of the bed, but I think those are riveted on. If all those hooks are still there you may just have some extra holes to deal with however you want.
Check the manuals for pictures of the bed.

Re: Rear bed holes
^^ Spot on.
My truck for instance...had holes to mount TWO separate radio antenna mounts. I had the holes for the fording stack as well.
If you're missing the brackets at the front which are supposed to hold the bows for storage with a canvas strap, that accounts for a few more

Re: Rear bed holes
Thanks for the answers. I looked at the manuals but couldnt find a picture that showed the spot with my holes.Troop seats blocked area. Actually found a good picture on ebay of a bed that showed no holes. Now welded up and painted.
