Gas tank Sending unit cover screws

Post by Gerry »

Does anyone have a picture of the screws that hold the access cover to the bed floor? Want to match as close as possible.
Thanks,
Gerry

They should be the same as the rest of the bed screws.

Hi Gerry,

Not to step on refit's toes, but I was doing my daily memorizing of the ORD...........and it seems the 4 screws that hold the inspection cover on are actually different from the rest of the bed screws. The inspection cover screws are listed as PN 1276736. The rest of the bed screws are listed as PN 1275479 or 7374867. The description for the inspection cover screws says "SCREW, int-ext-teeth-lockwasher, cross-recess-truss-head, ST, CST, -24NF-2 x 7A", and the description for the bed screws says "SCREW, cross-recess-truss-head, S, header-pt, CST, zn-pltd, 5/16-24UNF-2 x 7/8.

So I think in the definition of the cover screw the "7A" is a typo and should be "7/8". Also the diameter of the screw is missing from this one. That should be easy enough to check when you stick a bed screw in the hole....and if it's a 5/16 hole then it looks like the only difference between the bed screws and the cover screws is the cover screws have lockwashers on them. And the bed screws have a "header-pt" on them....but I don't know what that is.

regards,
bob

Header point is a small champher at the end of the blunt ended screw.
