Replacement bed wheel wells and spray on bed liners

Post by ZGjethro »

I am thinking of having the inside of my truck bed sprayed with a liner since it looks so bad. The truck looks pretty good on the outside, and I even have come to like the fire dept yellow. It was a brush fire truck, and the wheel wells in the bed have been cut and re-welded at an angle to accommodate a water tank and pumping equipment. The paint in the bed is pretty scratched or missing in places also. I am looking for replacement wheel wells in the bed and opinions on bed liners if anyone has them. I'd spray the removable parts like the filler tube cover and the tank access hole separately, but other than that probably all the bed screws would get sprayed in place. If these liners are not super durable, then I won't go that route. I have seen mixed reviews online

i had an f350 that i had done years ago by Rhino lining and it was tough as a rhinos hide! i have used DIY kits with mixwed results. i liked some of the DIYs for floorboards and such simply because they protected well for the light abuse and didn't permenantly cover any screws, bolt, plugs, etc. as with anything it is in the prep.
Rhino lining is awsome but not cheap. don't remember what i paid all those years ago, but i remember it hurt! until i saw the abuse it took!

I did a DIY kit on the cab floors of my M1009 and it worked out perfectly. It is holding up great.

I did a do-it-yourself kit years ago in the bed of a utility trailer, and it has held up pretty well. It won't see much hard use in the truck, but I was worried it would look like crap in the bed if I rolled it on.

I'd be pleased if I could find some inner wheel wells. Then this project could proceed.
