Much to my surprise Santa actually brought me an M37 part. Ok, maybe not a part specific to M37's, but a military part none the less. Only problem is he didn't leave me a note saying what the heck it is and how it's used. Check out the pics below and help me out identifying this thing.
It's a light of some sort as it's marked "Light, Instrument, M-47". It's all brass under the OD, appears to hold (2) D sized batteries, and has two lights.......one in the black rubber end and one in the rectangular brass end. I couldn't find anything on the web regarding it, but an Ebay elf told me it was a Korean War radio light....but if that were true why would it be marked "Insturment" and not "Radio"? So if you know what it's really for please let me know.
I can't seem to find a picture of one at this time but I think it is a military light for gun sight Reticule illumination. I am not into big guns so I don't know how rare it might be.
Thanks!! Yes, the pic of the one in your link has the same two ends on it as mine.....so mine must do the same thing. I guess I now have a reason to go get a BIG GUN!
Anyone know if one of those 155mm howitzers will fit in a normal 12x20 garage??
