My M37 before I got it had it's data plate taken that has the serial number and date of delivery.
So I took the serial number from the frame and looked it up on the production dates list. It is a Feb 1953. Is there a way to estimate the delivery date for my truck? Serial number - 80046010.
Also during that time did they get stamped with the Department of Defense symbol or the crossed cannons symbol? Any idea what inspector initials were stamped during that time. I have seen the initials PMS on other vehicles from 1953.
If the hood number might help I can try to sand down on the hood to find it.
Alan

There's a site on Steel Soldiers that will give you a history of your truck. I can't recall the heading, but it's not hard to find.
Re: M37 Delivery Date
Hi Alan,
To determine the info for my missing data plate I went into the Registry here and searched by SN. I found the SN's that bracket mine and found the most probably delivery date, the contract number and responsible agency. But if you make contact with the guy on the SS site please let me know......I'd like to know how some of the other info he provided.
thanks,
bob
