Pulley hub

Post by Ray505 »

What is the best way to install the bottom pulley hub on my M37 engine? It goes on the end of the crankshaft and I do not want to damage anything.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Hi Ray welcome to the board

I would not try sucking the pulley on with the bolt. with lots of thin oil and some grease on the seal a couple of taps with a rubber mallet should bring it home. make sure there are no burs on the key and don't forget the felt O ring. cleaning up the threads on the pulley boss is also a good idea and don't forget if your working too hard get a bigger hammer

post some pics.... we like pics

Thanks for the tip. One question regarding the felt washer. My engine did not have a felt washer so where does it go? Behind the timing chain cover in front of the sprocket or between the hub and the cover? Thanks for the help.

RMS: Thanks for the info. The hub can be tapped onto the crank without any problem. Appreciate the quick responses.
