I need some ideas on a mounting bracket for the rear license plate. I do not have to have it lighted. THanks

I fabricated a bracket that hangs below the taillight out of strap steel, just used some longer bolts to hold the light on.

Mine was bolted to the upper right corner of the tailgate by a previous owner.

I too bolted mine to the taillight mount using the taillight's bolts. Made it out of 3/4 flat steel welded up, and drilled to accept the plate.

I used a boat trailer bracket that is molded to use the taillight bolts and then drops down and has an offset to position the plate under the lamp.

I mounted mine with a piece of angle iron/bracket under my pioneer tool rack. It bolted up into an existing mounting hole in the edge of the rack so no new holes had to be drilled. Just had to be careful when lowering the tail gate.

I came up with a tailgate mount that will allow the lic. plate to work when the tail gate is up or down. The top is bolted to a piano hinge.
