What were you using in the 60's?
You may have had more options back then than we did.
The only choices we were aware of at the time were the K-22's, the KS-22's, and welded spools. We didn't like welded spools.

It was our experience that if you didn't slap the accelerator, didn't back up in a sharp turn while under load, and were careful about appropriately matching rpm while landing from a jump after all four wheels were off the ground, then axle breakage wasn't a problem. In other words, don't go break something just because you have enough torque available to break it at will.

It is of course, possible that using them for half a century just proves that either I'm a terribly slow learner, or maybe that I chose not to let the big block Chevy overload the truck.
:-)

Are the 22's still available?

Believe I'll leave it with you here, I think I'm catching on though, beginning to sound just a little like "MOON BEAM" syndrome.

I'm still interested in the transition between DAPC and what was it, TrueTrax, that took their place? True Trax (??) and Eaton seem to have come along after my time. The two names I remember are DAPC and Thornton.

What were our other locker options in the 60's? Like I said earlier, I've forgotten most everything I ever know about 37's.

(I still miss All Capp, particularly when Frank Frazetta was doing the illustrations of Moonbeam McSwine and some of the other characters)
