What's a P30 Engine?

Post by w30bob »

Hi Guys,

The engine block in my M37 is stamped P30(star symbol) I39589 instead of the normal T245-2Ixxx. It looks the same as a T245 230 flathead, but I can't seem to find any info on it except one Google hit from a guy who found one in a junkyard in Canada and was asking if it was a Canadian engine. Anybody know the story behind a P30 Chrysler motor in an M37?

thanks,
bob

A P30 engine is a 1957 Plymouth 230 engine. It's probably a replacement engine that someone installed into your truck. I doubt it's a Canadian engine as these were always the long block motors ie 251's .

Thanks achiem37. Wow, a '57 Plymouth hot rod motor! I'm thinking she'll make 250hp....reminds me of the movie "Christine". Sweeeet!
