Aberdeen

Post by wvcharlie »

Is anyone going to Aberdeen this year? I am going but I am driving my M725 ambulance. M37s are usually well represented and even though I have a V8 in mine now, the M725 has about a ten mph higher highway speed. It's a 500 mile round trip for me so, ten mph makes a big difference. I am looking for a set of front fender support braces for my M37.

I am going with camera to get lots of photos and try to post them here for all who are unable to attend. May take the M but not sure yet about that yet, it has a bad oil pan gasket. Might be able to replace it but not sure if my back will allow that.

I hope to see you there. I will probably have the only M725 there but I will be doing a lot of roaming around looking.

I am planning on going but the weather outlook does not look great for Saturday right now.

My experience has been if it rains the vendors usually leave early or don't show.

At least it is on pavement. I remember the washout at Churchville.

Yes, I remember about three or four years ago it rained all day, every day until Saturday about noon. Not a good time. I just hope it doesn't rain while I am driving there. We all know how much fun it is pulling up a long hill with vacuum wipers on. Good thing there is that hand assist for backup!

That was not a lot of fun, for almost an hour no one could go any where, a couple of Deuce' blocked the only entrance. I have to work so I am not going to make it. :(

Just got back from Aberdeen . Got there Wednesday left Friday before noon . Picked up a nice medium tow bar , tires for the Mule . I found the show kinda short on M37 parts this year . I think some vendors probably stayed away because of the weather reports . Still was a good show , 15 acres of fun ! bob k

Yeah, I agree with Bob.....definitely less M37 parts than last year. But still a good time, and if you dug a little there were still bargains to be had. Weather was fine, although I only went on Thursday and Friday, so I can't speak for Saturday. Did a lot of walking and got a truly "red neck", but it sure beat cutting grass and taking the kids to WalMart!

I went Saturday since my kids had school on Friday. I saw the M725, nice looking truck with stretchers in the back. A lot of dealers left Friday night and Saturday morning a few had been washed out due to a storm over night.

I picked up a carb rebuild kit from Peter DiBella other then that not much else in the way of M37 parts I needed.

I got home Sunday evening after a long trip back. My M725 performed flawlessly up and back. Yes, there weren't quite as many vendors or vehicles this year. But still an enjoyable event. I only saw one M37 there and few parts. I did pick up a spare tire I needed. I was all ready to spend almost $300 for a new one and found a good used one with about 90% tread for $75. That alone made the trip worthwhile. Picked up several other odds and ends I was looking for and some I wasn't that I just had to have. I found a "Tentage repair kit" that will keep me in grommets for quite a while.Image On the line at Aberdeen. The only M37 is parked next to my Ambulance. I can't believe that there was another M725 there! I almost never see them, and the same year!

Looks like fun! I'm eagerly awaiting the MVPA National in Portland, OR in a couple of months-having withdrawls, being too far away to go to the California "Tower Park" meets anymore....
