Extra hole ????

Post by Gerry »

Is the lower hole below the high beam hole not an original? How about the screw hole above it?

Thanks

It looks to me like the two bottom holes are not original to the truck. The first 4 holes from the top down should be correct.

Gerry:
Those bottom holes sure "look" factory. If not, someone did a professional job cutting them out.
Still, it makes me wonder what WAS in those holes at one time. (???)
Never have seen them before on other M37's.
Would like to hear from someone what they might have been used for.

As you can see from the grease there was something mounted there before I owned it. I think it spent some time with an FD but was turned back to military by previous owner.

I went ahead and installed a Military Siren on the M-37 since its marked up as a EOD truck and would need to get there in a hurry. I asked how the M-43 was set up with a siren and I was told that it was a floor mounted switch using a starter switch. So this is what I installed but on the PASSENGER side. If it is for a Siren switch, that would have had to been some Fred Astair foot work to shift and work the siren at the same time.

No hardener. Just the way the picture looks. Once it warms up I will pull out and take a picture. I only have the cab painted so far. Hopefully the rest this year
