Back Again

Post by Carter »

I am home, 2 surgeries, one on Wed. the other Fri. Did a total rebuild of my spine all discs were damaged one vertebrae shattered, scoliosis in 2 locations every vertebrae offset from the others. Doctors referred to my back, before surgery, as a train wreck. No pain from my back or legs today except for what is associated with the surgery. I am able to move around some and have to be very careful until I am more healed. Thank you all for prayers and well wishes which are greatly appreciated.

Maybe Sandy can bring up a seat squab for you to rest your head on to tide you over until you feel better
I hope your full recovery is a speedy one :D

Hey Carter.....that was quick! Glad to hear the surgeries went well. Your case will probably end up in a medical journal somewhere. Since Hopkins is a "teaching" hospital.....you should ask for a copy of your surgery video.

Just kidding....you can ask....but they won't give it to you. Been there, done that.

Hopefully they're giving you all the "good" drugs to keep the pain at bay until your incisions heal.
Hang in there....the worst part is finally over!!

Carter,

It's good to have you back so quickly, take it easy and heal up before you get back to working on stuff.

Thank you all for your prayers and best wishes as well as the get-well cards from Ed Commins and Bob Brucato. The pain in my leg is gone only to be replaced with the discomfort associated with an 18 inch long incision that allowed the surgeons access to my spine. I am greatly restricted in daily activities or movement. It will be several months before I can do any kind of work and I miss being able to work on any of the projects that I have started like the trailer and moving my stuff into the new house. Looking forward to resuming normal activity.

Will not be on line much because it's to painful to sit at the keyboard for more than a few min.

Carter,

I am glad you are home.

I cheat a bit with my computer usage. I use a lap top and lay on the bed. Now that is what you call lazy in case.

Carter,

Glad to hear the operation was successful !!! The incision pain will slowly go away......just takes time. Relax and enjoy the spring. By summertime you'll be right back at it....good as new. Or maybe "slightly used"...but you know what I mean. Good to hear from ya!
