Breaker Breaker 1-9

Post by w30bob »

Hi Guys,

I'm having a guy make me up the wiring harness that powers all the circuit breakers.....the one that starts at the voltage regulator, runs thru the breakers, and goes to the ignition switch. On my '52 I have 3 breakers under the dash and the early M schematic shows that....so no issue there. I haven't picked up the '54 M from Carter yet, but I did get some of the parts and one part is the bracket that holds the breakers. It has 4 breakers on it. Wiring is there but shot, but does confirm it's the #11 wires.

So I found a later schematic that does show 4 breakers, and they feed the horn, surgical light, heater, and lights. The schematic is labeled M37 Truck, 3/4 Ton 4x4. So I'm assuming the later M37 and M43 both had 4 breakers in them and the M37 just didn't have anything connected to the two marked heater and surgical light. On the '52 the 3 breakers power the horn, lights, and the aux power recepticle on the dash by the glove box.

From you guys with later M37's....later meaning after '52....how many breakers do you have? Right now it looks like I'm having 2 different harnesses made....one for the 3 breakers and one for the 4 breakers......but I want to be sure that's right before I start. So next time your out by your M can you poke your head under the dash and see how many breakers you have? Three mount on the driver's side of the bracket and the 4th mounts on the passenger side if you have a 4th.

thanks,
bob

Oh shucks Bob...I was hoping it was a post on how to turn a miltiary radio into a CB or how to make a mill antenna into a CB radio antenna or something like that. Don't forget that your 3 lever light switch has an internal breaker in it also.
M37s are HMMWV in my world!
