Modifing a Deuce Top

The hard top I have is in really bad shape and I would like to replace it. I know the m37's tops can be difficult to find and people usually don't like to part with them. I have heard of people modifying the Deuce tops to fit. Just wanted to know If there was some info on these modifications out there or it is a trial-by-error type of project?

The deuce hard top doesn't fit -you can get a repro M37 hardtop from VPW or other vendors; a CCKW top with the oval back window will also fit the M37.

I like the rag top myself, and while the cage hardware is not impossible to find, it isn't readily available either unless someone is parting out a truck.
