With all lights "off", I turn my ign switch to "on". On the bench, temp+oil go tilt (makes sense since there is no input), fuel doesn't move. and the volt meter moves a little amount. Obviously the feed from #27. With the instrument panel not grounded (on the bench), I get a false read of the hi beam indicator "on". I chased this around wire by wire and I can't figure it out. Second goofy thing is that the panel lights are really weak.
I added a ground wire to the back of the panel (wire ring to the hi beam screw) - no more false hi beam. In fact, when I turned the ign sw - the volt meter read the battery juice correctly (mid of gauge sweep).

Added ground wire
My forward harness came from Sid, so I had to add turn signal wires. His headlamp and b/o marker jumper harness contained the ground wire #91, so I added a ground wire that runs over from the turn signal relay box. I used a small bolt to connect the headlamp, b/o marker, and b/o headlamp(left side) to the ground wire. Same true for right side (less b/o lamp). Now my common ground wires come back to the turn signal relay box wire off of "M". I plan on running a ground wire from the engine to this point. My gauge panel ground connects to the M-ground as well.
