valve tappet adjustment

Post by Mopwr »

I'm working on adjusting my valve tappets, the TM shows .010 clearance for the intake valves and .014 for the exhaust. Looking at the tappets, whats the easiest way to know which are intake and which are exhaust? You can't figure it out by looking at the manifolds, and I've never had the head off.

Mopwr,

Looking at the engine with the valve covers off, and going left to right(#6 CYL to #1):
#6 EX/IN
#5 IN/EX
#4 EX/IN
#3 IN/EX
#2 EX/IN
#1 IN/EX

Hope this helps.
:)
