Need some part numbers

Post by MarkPick »

I want to upgrade my 63 Mb1's turn signals, the relay box is in pretty bad shape. I can get power to the turn signal switch but not to the turn signals nor do the break lights work.

I have read on this site as well as the SS site. I know Charles spoke of some pretty reliable systems from Napa. Could someone give me a part number or description. I have searched the NAPA web site and cant find a replacement. I am looking for the relay box replacement (bolts to the glove box) and turn signal controller. I want something that is reliable.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Never mind on the request for part numbers. I got it fixed today. Decided it was already broke so I couldn't screw it up any more than it was. Pulled the box out and cracked it open, found that the relay contacts were corroded up and not making proper contact. A little elbow grease, some fine grit sand paper, put it all back together and TAH DAH, turn signals and break lights!

On to the next problem.........

Congratulations, Mark!

Sometimes just jumping in where angels fear to tread is rewarded. That's one of the enjoyable things about these trucks; sometimes they are so blessedly uncomplicated that anyone (even me) can fix them with a little common sense. :D

I agree, sometimes you just gotta get your hands dirty and learn some things. Sometimes it is. "well I shouldn't have done it that way" or that didnt work out so well. But sometimes you get to stand back and smile at what you were able to accomplish. Pop used to always say, show me a man that never made a mistake and I will show you a man who never accomplished anything.
