door seal question

Post by retiredguy »

Hi guys. Got started on the M37 again and again the old seals were completely destroyed. Can someone take a few pictures of the seal that fits on the windshield frame. The one the door glass seals against when it is in the up position. I have the steel retainer strip but not sure which is in or which is out. One lip on the retainer is larger than the other. I thought the larger lip went in so the door missed the lower lip when closing the door with window in the up position. Then I have another piece, u shaped and kinda wavy like. I'll get some pics and add them shortly.

I can't do it right now but if no one else gives you an answer in the next couple of days I'll go take a look at mine (they are all new) and see which way things go. I don't remember the wavy (corrugated) piece though. Don't worry though, there are more and more things I don't remember......... :D

The wavy corrugated piece is actually what the passenger/driver's window rides in. (front & back of each door) There should be two screws in front & back of each door. I see if I have a pic of it? I found a pic. The wrinkled piece is covered w/felt, then screwed into a sturdy/substantial bracket which is anchored fore & aft of each door.

Hello I hope I have the correct info you're looking for. The rubber item on the left is one of three one on each side of the window and one on top. The center looks like it's the gasket holder on the bottom in the door frame. it has 5 or 6 screw holes that will line with holes in the body of the truck. The item on the right is what's left of the window glide, one on each side inside the door. It used to be felt type material. I hope this helps.
