Not sure what that is, the rectifier is to the right. My truck doesn't have one of those.

well hopefully we can both learn something here! 8)

I stopped at the shop on the way home from work pulled my fuel pump off the truck to get the number off of it so I get the right rebuild kit. theres a short 6" or so rubber hose on what I believe is the supply side that is in bad shape too. the short hose runs from a 1/4 turn shutoff valve then into the carb. going to either find one online or have it made. looks original to me. same with the pump, absolutely every bit of 61 years of gunk on it took me a while to scrape all the crap off!

Anybody use the Star wheel cylinders from the fella in NC who sells em on ebay? :?:

Stay away from wheel cylinders from China. Many threads all over the net, they don't work. Go to John at Midwest Military or Vintage Powerwagons. With a single servo brake system, you can't afford to blow a wheel cylinder.

WELCOME That short piece of hose from the shut off valve gave me more trouble!! it had an internal collapse, the truck kept sAlLLing while under way. Like somebody said in a previous post: R&R all existing rubber fuel lines. I went with an electric pump. No more fuel related problems, in fact in the four years I have owned my M, very few problems.
GOOD LUCK BOB

After seeing that rubber line i will for certain be replacing all the rubber lines tank to pump. even if they had the same gas now that they did 60 years ago the lines would still be bad regardless ya cant expect rubber to last that long!

You will want to change all the fluids, axles and t-case. Be sure to use yellow metal friendly gear lubes, no synthetics.

Data plate says 90. Gear lube is a different rating than oil, if it were motor oil, 50 would be the equiv, but motor oil lacks the impact additives that gear oil has.

i pulled the passenger side PTO cover today to have a looksee and saw some sweet rounded edges on 2 of the gears inside. At least I know where all the shavings at the bottom of the trans came from. Anyone know what gear this pic is of? the rear of the case is to the left of the pic

The item on your firewall is the very early ignition filter. Later units had them built into the distributor. I had a manual around here somewhere thats dated 1951 and thats in it. The 1951 models had all kinds of bells and whistles such as an access hole under the passenger seat to adjust the parking brake.....

I have that access hole, it has a cover like where the fording breather comes out of the fender. I was wondering what that was for. When I was rolling around under there i thought the adjustment for the parking brake was accessed from below. Ill have to read up on that one. on my short list of things to do while waiting for parts from mwm
