Fording Cable Help

Post by w30bob »

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know the length of the two cables in the fording cable assembly? I was just going to buy one from a guy on Ebay, but I looked around a bit in previous posts on the subject and someone warned that M38 and M37 fording cables were different lengths. I see them pop up on Ebay frequently, but if I knew the correct dimensions I'd be sure of what I was getting. I don't think a lot of people know what they are selling these days, so knowing the lengths of the two cables would save me a bunch of grief. The cable the guys is selling is has a total length of 44" and one cable is 3" shorter than the other.

thanks,
bob

From the hub of the handle (the part that butts up against the dash) to the end of the long cable is 53" - the shorter one is 38" long (15" shorter). John @ Midwest Military has them.
