SNs and Registry Question

Post by w30bob »

Hi Guys,

While looking thru the registy for SNs close to mine I noticed that some don't seem to be in the right year, if they are supposed to be sequential. Why is that? Are people getting the year wrong or did Dodge just use SNs out of sequence? That doesn't make much sense......but I guess it's possible. Any ideas??

thanks,
bob

Kinda depends. Are you talking about the vechicle SN or the USA number? The SNs are sequential AFAIK but the USA numbers were assigned as the vehicles were accepted by the military. It's not uncommon to have a higher SN truck with a lower USA number. SN is stamped in the frame, left front wheel well forward of the axle. You might have to lightly sand to get it to pop. It should also be on the glove box plate (should match).
